What is SaaS?

SaaS stands for Software as a Service. The theory behind this evolving industry is that you can rent your software from a service provider instead of spending vast amounts of internal resources and time developing complicated programs in house. With the rapid evolution of software and the speed at which technology is changing time to deployment is a key factor in developing effective software. Often times by the time you have developed your enterprise software, tested and deployed it may already be obsolete.

The benefit of the SaaS model is that you contract with a 3rd party that does nothing but focusing on developing a more effective piece of software. Not only do they focus on continuous improvement but they also have access to their community of users. They take the best practices from various sources and implement them to help the entire user community become more efficient. This drastically reduces the time it takes to develop a bulletproof, highly functional product.

One example of a SaaS product that I personally use is Highrise. It is a web-based contact manager. My contacts are stored in the cloud and I can access my information from any computer with an Internet connection. They are consistently updating the program and pushing new features out to all users. I pay a monthly subscription for the service based on how much I use the service.

Why it makes sense:

Businesses have access to a great piece of software at a fraction of the development cost, can deploy it quickly and benefit from continuous improvement allowing you to focus on growing your core business.

Welcome to RWF

I wanted to thank you for viewing our blog.  I thought it best that our first blog post give you a little insight into who we are and why we are in business.

My business partner, Chris Johns, and myself, Don Broekelmann, started Real World Financial to help average Americans gain access to the tools and resources to be successful with their finances.

In my work as a financial planner and mortgage lender I noticed a huge hole in the financial services market.  The majority of average individuals did not have access to the tools and resources to make sound financial decisions.

We have designed our software package to be efficient for both the customer and the financial institution to gather information and get a clear picture of their financial lives.  This is a win-win. The financial services institutions can help more clients and make more revenue while the customer gets thier financial needs and concerns addressed.

We would be intersted to learn if your financial institution is a good fit for our services.
